A small printer in Runcorn has fallen foul of the recession and entered into voluntary liquidation.
Swift Print, a family business, appointed Julie Beavis and Jeremy Oddie of local chartered accountant Mitchell Charlesworth on 2 October.
According to Mitchell Charlesworth, the loss of a major contract in 2005, declining orders and a fall in production volumes led to the 22-year-old company failing.
The company employed two staff. Its equipment is now being auctioned by auctioneers Philip Davies & Sons Auctioneers and Valuers.
Beavis said: "Many small owner-managed businesses are facing difficulties in the current economic climate. Individuals and organisations have been tightening their belts in line with the publicised economic gloom over the last six months and trade is getting tough.
"The general climate is a major factor in all corporate failures at present. However, certain industries face specific issues, of which the printing industry is one. In order to keep up with the ever changing technological environment means continued investment in equipment, software, skills etc. The more traditional printing firms will find trade harder to find as many customers carry out work in-house or turn to web-based printing solutions."
